If you performed a backup of your system, when the mentioned application was working fine, you can perform a restore of your system to that moment. If you used the Windows inbuilt backup function, you need to go under Start > Control Panel > Backup and Restore > select the backup and click Restore. In case you used a third party tool to perform the backup, you will need to use the same tool to restore to the point where the application was working.
If you didn't perform any backup action on your PC, and the mentioned program crashed, to restore it, first you need to Uninstall it from your PC. To do this, go to Start > Control Panel > Programs and features > select it and press Uninstall. After you did this, go to the following download website, properly select your computer model and download the latest version of Empowering Technology from there, in order to install it.

The latest version of Acer eDataSecurity Management should have a green-blue color. If you have issues with its color, go to Start, type dxdiag and open the utility. Open the Display tab, check your video card model and download and install its latest drivers from the developer's web page. Also, navigate to Acer Drivers and Manuals page, identify your computer model, select your operating system and download and install the latest Acer eDataSecurity Management version manually.
I want to recover the data stored in PSD (Personal Secure Disk). When I try to open it, it displays a "Malfunctioning error" and it is asking me to reboot or reinstall Acer eDataSecurity Management. If I will try to reinstall a newer version, the previous version will be removed. How can I recover my data?

Yes, if you install a newer version of Acer eDataSecurity Management, the old version will be removed. However, the libraries with your stored data will not disappear and you should be able to recover them using the new version of Acer eDataSecurity Management. Navigate to the official web page, identify your computer model, select you operating system and download and install the software from the Applications tab.
Yes, the application is free but the problem is that it's not available for all Acer devices. To check the availability of the application, visit Acer Support and use the information about your device to check for available downloads. You can find the downloads after you locate the model of your driver.
